Uchi Kani Bunny

Avatar: Kani Bunny
Creator: Uchi (http://slurl.com/secondlife/The%20Lost%20Furest/82/157/78)

Appearance:
If you're been on SL for any length of time, chances are you've seen a mountain of these avatars floating around, and for good reason. Uchi's Bunnies look fantastic, the face is well put together and looks wonderfully natural instead of horribly cartoony like most other bunny avatars, the ears being the main standout feature as they are made from a few clever torus manipulations instead of a ring of spheres, much much better.

There are only a few things that bother me about this avatar, the main one being that if you look closely, the eyes hover just slightly out of the head, this isn't really noticeable but does get annoying after awhile. The face can be a problem if you want to be anything but a toy boy as it's slightly effeminate, making it a bit unsuitable for more average sized men and that unless you customise yourself past putting a few clothes on and changing you're shape, you're going to look a whole lot like a thousand and one other residents out there.

Features:
Uchi's Bunny comes with a fantastic little HUD that does everything. It gives you 5 different ear positions that can be modified and saved, tintable inner ears in a myriad of colours, mix and match eye and eyebrow positions and a little smile for when you're feeling more social, there's also a few easter eggs thrown in but you'll have to find them yourself.

AO:
None, best bet is to try ZHAO.

Customizability:
Uchi Bunny faces are very neutral, meaning you can make them look like any other small mammal by usually just changing the ears, this opens up a whole world of avatar options once you've got bored of just the regular bunny. Every things MOD/COPY.

Value for Money:
At l$800 it's fantastic value for an avatar which is so well built with a large amount of features and customizability.

Conclusion:
A great avatar, well worth the money as long as you have the patience to turn it into something unique.

Luskwood Bigcats Collection

Avatar: Bigcats
Creator:
Luskwood (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Lusk/215/170/62)

Appearance:

Since this is the first review I thought it best to review one of the oldest and most steadfast avatars SL has had to date. The Luskwood Bigcats vary in range but they all boil down to the same basic shape which is extremely well put together and works well despite the lack of sculpts and other advanced features. Another good point is the detailing in the skin, despite there being no muscle tone or shapely shading that's common in more recent avatars, Luskwood is the only one to get the fur patterns down well on a good range of their Bigcats, specifically the Tigers and the Snow Leopards.

The letdown to the Bigcat range is that it hasn't been kept up to date, wonders could be done with a few sculpts here and there, especially under the chin and the ears to eradicate some prim lines, maybe add a better default hair too but now I'm nitpicking.

Features:
The Bigcats have very few features apart from a dual positioned tail and a few blinking animations, this isn't as bad as it sounds as many avatars come with mountain of features that are never used, but it's still a bit of a let down.

AO:

None, you're left to fend from yourself on this front.

Customizability:
Infinite as many eccentric community members have proven over the years this avatar has been available. There are many dedicated aftermarket parts such as flexible tails, personalised skins and new ears, you name it. Every thing is MOD/COPY, just as it should be.

Value for Money:
At l$900 it's a little pricey for an old avatar with few features, a lower price would be better but plenty of people still pay.

Conclusion:
A nice solid avatar, a good buy for your main appearance, less so if you'd only use it occasionally. Would be much better with a few modern updates.
